Happy new year. Welcome back to the channel. I want to wish all my subscribers an amazing year filled with creativity and inspiration. I’ve been having a lot of fun creating YouTube videos and I’m very grateful for all the growth my channel had last year so I wanted to give a little back. I’m going to kick off this year by doing a giveaway. One lucky subscriber will win a SmallRig Black Mamba cage for a Canon EOS R7. The Canon R7 is a fantastic camera for content creators packed with a bunch of useful features. Adding a SmallRig cage will make a big difference in your production workflow. You’ll have the ability to build out your rig to suit your needs. You could add a mic, a bigger screen, a recorder or even a few led lights to fill in the dark shadows on your face. I didn’t see the point of having a cage on my camera, that is until I started using one. Now there is no way I would produce video content without a cage. I think the most beneficial thing about having a cage on your camera is that it reduces setup time. If you're a content creator that makes a lot of content, saving a few minutes on each project will add up to a big savings over the months.

A big part of being successful in any venture is streamlining your production. For me, when it comes to producing video content, it’s important to be able to turn on my camera and go. I want to be able to produce the content in the moment. If you have to fuss with moving equipment around and plugging in mics and all that production stuff you lose the moment. When I picked up my first cage it was a game changer. I had my camera rigged up with all the stuff I needed to produce my videos and all I had to do was turn it on and start filming. It may not seem like a big deal but when you’re producing 100+ videos a year you end up saving a ton of time. The other really nice thing about a cage is that everything is connected to the cage so your setup becomes pretty mobile. I don’t know if you’ve noticed but a lot of my videos are shot from different angles in my studio. I have my camera+cage on a tripod fitted with wheels so I can roll my setup around my studio and film from whatever angle I feel like and it’s as easy as rolling my tripod around to the spot I want to film from. Once you get used to producing content with a cage on your camera you realize that it really is a price of invaluable equipment.
