FOTODIOX PRO FD TO EOS R ADAPTER
If you want to buy a really good quality FD to RF adapter for your vintage lens collection I would recommend the Fotodiox Pro FD to EOS R Adapter. I've been using this adapter to mount my vintage FD glass onto my EOS R and EOS R5 for the past two years and I only have positive things to say about it. This adapter is built solid and will survive professional use. From what I can tell there does’t seem to be any plastic components on this adapter. This best thing about this adapter is the ease of use. It makes it really easy to mount vintage lenses on to my mirrorless cameras. It fits tightly to my lenses and camera bodies without that wiggle you get from some cheaper adapters. This Fotodiox adapter is really a quality piece of kit and I’m happy to have it in my bag. If you’re into shooting with vintage FD or FL lenses than this adapter comes with a thumbs up from me.
I haven’t had any issues with this adapter. You just install the adapter to the lens and mount it onto the camera and you’re good to go. What the video above for more info on installing the adapter. If you are using the old FD lenses with the breach lock mount you have to pay attention to what you are doing. Mounting those old lenses can be a bit tricky. I’m not a huge fan of that breach lock design but for those of you who are curious you can use this adapter with those lenses. This adapter is also compatible with Canon’s FL mount lenses as well. So if you’re buying vintage lenses this adapter works with FD, nFD and FL lenses.
