THE CAMERA I'VE ALWAYS WANTED FROM CANON
There’s one camera Canon has been missing from it’s lineup for a long time and I wanted to talk about it. Canon’s covered a lot of ground with their camera lineup ranging from point and shoots all the way up to professional high speed action shooters and high megapixel studio beasts. But the one camera Canon doesn’t have is a high quality, pocketable, everyday camera for professional photographers. A small compact, put it in your pocket and head out the door camera. As a professional photographer I love shooting photos. It’s a type of therapy. After a long day I’ll head out for a walk with my camera and unwind doing what I love to do. The thing is those RF lenses on the R bodies are massive, heavy and attract a lot of attention. The whole point of mirrorless was to go smaller and more compact but I think Canon missed the memo. They’ve only made heavier and more expensive lenses since going mirrorless. Don’t get me wrong when it comes to paid work I love having the R5 in my hands. The quality of the photos is amazing. But that being said as a walk around everyday camera it’s too heavy and bulky to enjoy. So as a professional photographer I would love to see a small compact professional caliber camera in Canon’s lineup.
