It was a grey, drab day, and after spending hours at my desk editing photos, I knew I needed a break. I had no idea what kind of treat I was in for when I decided to head and stretch my legs.

I decided to brave the cold spring air and take a walk by the lake on a cold grey day. One of my favorite things about photography is that it gives me an excuse to get outside and explore. I packed my bag with a few of my favorite nFD lenses. the nFD 24mm f2.8 for wide shots, the nFD 135mm f3.5 for longer shots, and the nFD 70-210mm f4 for versatility. These vintage lenses are so compact that you can carry a bunch of them without weighing yourself down.

As I wandered along the lakeshore, hunting for interesting compositions and trying to keep my fingers warm, something unexpected happened. The sun peeked through the thick clouds, and suddenly, the dull, grey afternoon transformed into a stunning, moody spring sunset. I stood there in awe, capturing the moment as the light painted the sky with dramatic hues.

It felt surreal to be there, at just the right time, witnessing such a fleeting moment of beauty. And it reminded me of one of the simplest yet most rewarding truths about photography: sometimes, you just have to get out there. You never know what magic might unfold.
