Lens Info - Canon nFD 70-210mm f4 Macro
CANON NFD 70-210MM F4 MACRO
This beauty of a zoom lens was released in October 1980. Despite being an amazing lens for it’s time it only saw a limited production run. By 1985 this lens was replaced with Canon’s new FD 80-200mm F4 L. The FD 70-210mm F4 features a push/pull zoom design allowing the user to use the same ring to zoom and focus the lens. It has a zoom ratio of 3x and the ability to go into a macro mode at 70mm with a minimum focus distance of 44cm. This lens features 9 groups with 12 elements as well as Canon’s Super Spectra Coating. Just like all lenses of this era they become sharper when stopped down but in my experience this lens is a pretty sharp even at F4. It preforms really well even by today’s standards and the best thing about it is it’s compact design. This vintage lens is great value for money and can be found used for around $50.
