Canon RF 16mm f2.8 STM - Sample Photos
Canon RF 16mm f2.8 STM
Here are some photos shot with the Canon RF 16mm f2.8 STM. Overall this is a fun little lightweight lens to shoot with. I have some sample photos below comparing images with this lens taken with full frame and APS-C. On APS-C this lens becomes about a 25mm which is a good wide-angle perspective for those of you shooting on a cropped sensor. If there is one glaring flaw that should be pointed out with this lens it is that it has a bad optical design and relies on in camera corrections to fix warped perspectives. The issue with this is that objects in the corners of the frame can be squished in a way that makes them a visual distraction. Check out the cars in the lower part of this shot. If you’re looking to do serious interior or architectural photography I’d recommend looking into one of Canon’s L class ultra wide lenses for better results. RF 14-35mm F4 L IS USM or the RF 15-35 f2.8 L IS USM.
