TTArtisan AF 75mm f2 FE - Lens Info

the TTArtisan AF 75mm f2 FE - A Budget-Friendly Gem

As someone who’s always on the lookout for interesting and affordable lenses, I was pretty excited when I got my hands on the TTArtisan AF 75mm f2 FE. Full disclosure TTArtisan did reach out to me and ask if I wanted to review this lens but they have no input when it comes to what I say about this lens. This post is just some general information about the lens and my first impressions. And speaking of firsts, this is TTArtisan’s first autofocus lens for Sony E-mount, and at its price point, it’s hard not to be excited! If you want to know more about this lens subscribe to the YouTube channel. Full review coming after I’ve had time to get to know the lens and can give some real world experience to the review.

Build and Handling

The first thing I noticed about this lens was how compact and lightweight this lens is and I’m saying lightweight while at the same time admiring that it has a metal housing. For a 75mm prime, it’s surprisingly small, making it a great option for those who want a more travel-friendly portrait lens. The build feels solid with its metal construction, though the design is minimalistic, no switches or fancy markings, just a clean, sleek finish.

Autofocus Performance

Since TTArtisan is relatively new to the autofocus game, I was curious about how well it would perform. In good lighting conditions, the autofocus is snappy and reasonably accurate. Nothing to complain about. I’ll test it out in different conditions for the full review video.

Image Quality

Now, the real test is how does it render images? Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised. The 75mm focal length is fantastic for portraits, giving a nice compression without feeling too tight. At f2, the bokeh is smooth and pleasing. Check out my other TTArtisan AF 75mm f2 FE blog posts for sample shots.

Who Is This Lens For?

If you’re looking for a budget friendly portrait lens with autofocus, the TTArtisan AF 75mm f2 FE is definitely worth considering. It won’t replace a high-end G Master lens, but for hobbyists, beginner portrait shooters, or anyone wanting to try a unique focal length without spending a fortune, it’s a solid choice. In fact if you’re only posting your images on social media why even bother buying an expensive G Master. I mean in the end you’re shrinking your images to web size anyway and at that point you really can’t tell the difference between an expensive lens and a budget lens especially if the image quality is good.

Would I recommend it? As of right now absolutely but stay tuned for the full review where i’ll try to pick apart this lens and find it’s flaws.
