MY EOS R5 VIDEO SETTINGS FOR YOUTUBE
Welcome to this week’s video. In this video I’m going to go over the video settings I use on my Canon EOS R5 for filming YouTube videos. If you just picked up an R5 and you want to start filming but you’re not sure what settings to use this video is a quick walkthrough of some of the settings that are important to me. My objective when filming YouTube videos is to move quickly. I want to film using settings that are easy to work with and edit quickly while still providing a good quality video for viewers. The Canon EOS R5 has the best video selection menu in the industry and dialing in what setting you want to film with is super easy.
My preferred video settings for filming YouTube videos: 4k-U or 4kHQ, 23.98fps, IPB. When I film tutorials and I know that I’ll be punching into a video to show details I’ll film in 8k-U, 23.98, IPB. I find the 8k to be a great tool for that purpose. I don’t do a lot of shooting in CLOG for my YouTube work as I want to avoid the extra step of color grading. But with that being said if that’s something you want to do I do go over how to turn on your LOG video settings in t he video.
This video was filmed after EOS R5 firmware 1.3.0 came out.
