Recently I have the pleasure of working with Meeko Rose. I found her on Instagram and loved the attitude and emotion in her shots. So I reached out and invited her in for a shoot and I’m certainly glad I did. Had such an awesome time getting to know her as a person and the photos came out amazing too. Photography is such a people business. Connection with people and learning about their story is can be just as exciting as shooting the photos. For example Meeko was clinically died before being revived. How crazy is that! Maybe one day we’ll get together and do a vlog and she can share her experience being on the other side.

For our first shoot I wanted to shoot some high contrast black and white photos to develop my fashion and portrait portfolio. I’ve recently developed a itch to shoot more black and white. I want to challenge myself to start seeing tones and textures in my compositions and there is no better way to do that then to shoot black and white. These photos were shot with the Canon EOS R + RF 28-70mm f2 L. Here are the shots from our first shoot enjoy.

🎬 I filmed a lighting tutorial at this shoot which you can see here if you want to learn my technique for shooting these images.
