Overall I would say if you need a lot of power, when it comes to value for money this light is awesome.

Is the gvm SD 650B a good photography light?

Being a photographer first I was very interested in this light as a constant studio light for photography work. After testing it out i’m very happy with the brightness of the light. You can see in the video and the pictures above that I was able to get really good light at a decent aperture for studio work. The only issue I ran into was the color accuracy. If you leave the light on for a while to warm up it does get better but it’s not 100% accurate. I found if I pushed the blue hue to -29 in Lightroom the skin tones improved. Overall I’m happy with this light for photography work. I’ve used it a few times since I made this video. Correcting the color isn’t difficult and the bright light output is fantastic when combined with a large defuser.
