CANON EOS R5 - PHOTOS SHOT AT THE LESLIE STREET SPIT
Hey everyone I hope you are all having amazing creative days. In this video we’ll be looking at some phots I shot with the Canon EOS R5. This video is for those of you who are thinking of picking up an R5 and wanted to see some photos and get some opinions about the camera. I can safely say with confidence, as of the date this video was published, that the Canon EOS R5 is easily the best photography camera Canon has ever made. It’s designed to be an upgrade to the workhorse Canon EOS 5D mkIV and it does a great job continuing the 5D line in the new mirrorless R system. From ease of use, to image quality, to the duel pixel auto focus 2, to the way this camera feels in the hands, this camera is amazing. This is the 3rd mirrorless camera Canon has released in the R system and the first with IBIS and the ability to shoot 20 shots per second. For photography I would say this camera is the closest to perfect Canon has ever gotten. The R5 is also great when it comes to video. If you’re looking for 1080p or 4k video this camera can handle it with ease. However when it comes to 4k 120p, 4k HQ and 8k video recording this camera suffers with some overheating issues. I’ll discuss that in more detail in another video.
For those professional caliber photographers looking to upgrade their 5D mkIV or finally make the leap into the mirrorless world this is a great camera to bring you into the future of photography. The new R system cameras use the new RF lens mount but if you have a collection of older canon EF lenses and even FD lenses you’ll be happy to know what they adapt to the RF mount with no issues at all. I have a ton of EF lenses and I’ve been using them with my EOS R5 and EOS R to shoot paid pork without any issue. All but two of the photos in this video are shot with an EF 70-200 f2.8L IS lens that I bought in 2008. It’s a couple generations old now but still shoots like a dream.
I don’t typically shoot a lot of cityscapes but on this day a photographer friend of mine invited me out to go for a walk and shoot and I thought it would be fun to shoot something different. He does a lot of of urban street photography. If you want to check out his work Instagram linked below. in 2020 he did the 365 day challenge and shot one new photo every day for 365 days which is pretty awesome if you ask me.
