10,000!

Thank you

And there it is 10,000 subscribers on the YouTubes! Thank you so much to everyone who has found value in my videos, commented and left constructive thoughts. I appreciate all of you and am very grateful that you’ve joined me on this YouTube journey. I put a lot of time and effort into making videos with custom animations and graphics and I’m thrilled that so many of you like minded individuals out there also enjoy what I create. As artists I think that’s what we all strive for, to have another person choose to experience what we create is the reward.

It’s Been A long road

It’s been a struggle to get to this point. My channel has gone through a lot of changes over the years. From a photographer vlogging channel to a variety channel covering everything from makeup tutorials to music to a channel with behind the scenes videos that had no direction or structure. I’m certain I stunted my own growth by confusing the YouTube algorithm on more than one occasion. The funny thing about making mistakes is that they become incredible learning experiences. Over the past two years I’ve really focused in on photography as my main channel topic and going forward I have some really cool and engaging ideas about expanding on that topic.

What you can expect next

The best way to kill momentum is to rinse and repeat your content over and over again. I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about how I can evolve my channel in a way to keep the content creative and fresh while at the same time providing value to my viewers. Here are some ideas I have on the table:

  • More gear reviews because gear reviews are fun. I may expand my camera collection to include other brands so I can compare camera systems and offer more diverse opinion.

  • Camera bodies come and go but lenses can last for your entire career. Lens reviews that offer both comprehensive technical analysis as well as personal real world experience are something I want to add to the channel.

  • Photoshoot behind the scenes videos with each video focusing on one particular aspect of photography such as lighting, posing, creative goals, lens selection etc.

  • YouTube membership that includes longer tutorial videos and vlogs that would otherwise hurt my channel analytics if I posted them with my regular videos.

  • One of my big goals is to continue building a community of creators on the channel. I wanted to use my experience working in the magazine industry to create photo contests and then have the winner’s work printed in a magazine. Because let me tell you there is nothing quite so trilling as seeing your work published.

  • I want to start doing photoshoot live streams where I can directly answer some of your questions and show how I shoot my photos.
